Concerning world government: on July 19, 2022, UN Sec.-Gen. Guterres and WEF founder Klaus Schwab witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to form a strategic partnership and to accelerate the “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

The UN and WEF have agreed to cooperate on fast-tracking world government.

It is important that God can slow down or delay world government, or He can also accelerate it if He wants.

The acceleration of world government is good news for many that are concerned about inflation, food shortages, nuclear war, etc., but it is bad news for those that are not saved.

Here are more stories that made the news in the last few days.

One, concerning world government: on July 26, 2022, The Washington Standard published an article by award-winning international journalist Alex Newman, titled “UN & World Economic Forum Behind Global ‘War On Farmers.’”

Newman’s article contains more information than I want to discuss here, but it is extremely important, and I recommend it to those that are interested.

In my words, here are some of Newman’s insights on current events:

>The UN and the World Economic Forum (WEF) are jointly pushing the nations to implement the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and if they are not stopped, their policies will lead to “economic devastation, shortages of critical goods, widespread famine, and a dramatic loss of individual freedoms.”

>These problems are already impacting millions of people, and they will worsen in the coming weeks and months.

>Resistance to this globalist agenda is growing in some parts of the world, but government officials are cracking down on their citizens instead of trying to solve their complaints.

>The real agenda is not to help people or to save the planet from climate change; the real goal is to reduce the sovereignty of people and nations and to bring everyone on earth under the rule of a world government.

>Globalist leaders believe they can gain control over people and nations by gaining control over their food and energy.

>They are not concerned about food and energy shortages because they believe they have the wealth and means to protect themselves from the shortages they are creating.

>Global control is why small businesspeople, farmers, ranchers, and workers are being squeezed out and made poorer all over the world.

>This is behind the statement that “You will own nothing and be happy.”

(My opinion: In the future, those that are not happy must not say so because many globalists want to reduce the population of the earth.)

(Another opinion: A big difference between this present generation and past generations is the globalist desire to create problems instead of solving problems.)

Two, on Oct. 8, 2018, the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a Special Report on Global Warming that said the world had 12 years (until 2030) to limit the rise in global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and prevent a multitude of disasters (health issues, food shortages, economic problems, etc.).

That led to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ famous remark on Jan. 21, 2019, that “The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?”

On July 25, 2022, I heard a commentator on TV say the climate change fanatics have now moved the end of the planet up one year (until 2029).

Climate change is a scare tactic (God controls the weather, uses it to urge people and nations to repent of their sins, and to fulfill His Word; see Psa. 148:8), but many prophecy lovers would love to believe the Rapture is closer than they thought.

Three, on July 19, 2022, the head of the WEF, Klaus Schwab, and the Premier of China, Li Keqiang, held a virtual meeting applauding their cooperation and pledging to work together on climate change, industrial transformation, and social equity in the future.

Critics are concerned that China’s Social Credit Score system will be integrated into the New World Order and be used to determine who can buy and sell, where people live, where their children attend school, and more.

Four, on July 23, 2022, it was reported that the WEF has published a paper calling for an end to private car ownership.

As the WEF sees it, there are too many vehicles in the world, and it takes too much metal and other materials to build them.

Forcing people to share vehicles, ride buses, walk, work from home, etc., will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save the planet from climate change.

Klaus Schwab and some like him believe the world needs to transition from product purchasing (ownership of vehicles) to more efficient usership (renting, sharing vehicles, etc.).

(FYI: It is more than ending the ownership of vehicles. The WEF says you will own nothing and be happy. It sounds like they want your clothes too.)

Five, concerning pestilence: on July 21, 2022, the White House announced that Pres. Biden has tested positive for Covid even though he has been fully vaccinated and had two booster shots.

Just know that the vaccination and booster shots don’t prevent a person from getting Covid, but they can cause adverse reactions that could be dangerous.

(FYI: On July 21, 2021, Pres. Biden said, “You’re not going to get Covid if you have these vaccinations.”)

(Concerning deceit at the end of the age: Afghanistan won’t fall, America’s allies won’t be left in Afghanistan, inflation is temporary, our border is secure, Putin is causing high gas prices, we are not in a recession, etc.)

Six, concerning pestilence: on July 22, 2022, it was reported that anyone can get Monkeypox (from small rodent bites, using linens that someone with Monkeypox used, respiratory droplets, and bodily fluids, skin-to-skin contact, etc.), but it is primarily a sexually transmitted disease (STD) spread by men having sex with men.

Sadly, some officials want to hide the fact that the main problem is gay male sex.

The good news is that an effective vaccine already exists (two doses of Jynneos), and manufacturers have already stepped up production.

Seven, concerning famine and food shortages: on July 22, 2022, Ukraine and Russia signed agreements with the UN and Turkey to ship about 22 million tons of Ukrainian grain to other nations.

The agreements will go a long way toward feeding hungry people in the world, and some reports say it should help stabilize grain prices.

One report on July 25, 2022, said the price of a roll of hay in some areas has increased from about $45 to $220.)

Justin Trudeau ignored strong opposition from farm organizations and ordered a dramatic reduction in the use of fertilizer to meet the 2030 sustainable development climate change goals. Some officials were stunned that Canada is drastically cutting food production when the world is facing food shortages.)

Eight, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: tension has been growing between Russia and Israel over Israel’s support for Ukraine.

Around mid-July, Russia called for a Jewish agency in Russia that was helping Jews immigrate to Israel to be closed.

On July 24, 2022, it was reported that Israeli Prime Min. Lapid warned Russia that closing the immigration office would be a “grave event” and “would negatively affect diplomatic ties between Jerusalem and Moscow.”

Israel has asked to meet with Russian officials to try to resolve the issue.

The Bible clearly teaches that Russia and many allies will attack Israel at the end of the age, and the relationship between the two nations has soured dramatically since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Nine, concerning the coming hyper-inflation and economic collapse: on July 24, 2022, it was reported that inflation is entrenched and getting worse, so the Federal Reserve will likely be forced to keep raising interest rates to bring it under control.

Some economists don’t believe the Fed can bring inflation under control without triggering a recession.

No matter how we look at it (inflation or recession), excessive government spending and the destruction of America’s energy independence have contributed to the problem.

Ten, concerning immorality and global rejection of the Scriptures: on July 25, 2022, it was reported that the WHO is now officially endorsing the idea of more than two genders.

One man (WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus) may soon have control over the health of everyone on earth, and he based his opinion on politics, not science or Scripture.

It is debatable, but some prophecy teachers believe the Antichrist will be gay (Dan. 11:37; II Tim. 3:3), and Ghebreyesus is endorsing the gay agenda.

Eleven, concerning the Mark of the Beast: the False Prophet will make an image of the Antichrist during the Tribulation Period, give it life, cause it to speak, and demand that people worship it if they want to buy and sell (Rev. 13:12-17).

A reader has reminded me of the well-publicized story of the Google Developer that was recently fired for saying that Google has developed a talking Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot that has gone sentient (able to perceive things or make conscious decisions).

Finally, are you Rapture Ready?

If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this.

The US economy is a 70% retail and service economy, which means it is entirely reliant on continued growth in domestic consumption in order to maintain all other elements of the system.With manufacturing only a small part of overall employment (8%) and agriculture also limited (10%), our country is overly dependent on spending habits and ultimately consumer debt.

If we produced more goods domestically and exported more overseas, then stagflation might not be as big a concern. However, as it stands now, the stability of the entire machine rests on people's faith in the economy and their willingness to continue spending in the hopes that a return to normalcy is "right around the corner."

In order to measure when our system will break, it's important to track the health of the average consumer as well as their concerns for the future.Sadly, as soon as Americans stop spending and start saving, our economy goes down.That is the way the system has been designed.

The mainstream media was quick to jump on news this month of "increased" retail spending -overall retail sales climbed 1% for June.Of course, what they don't mention is that official inflation is at 9.1% and REAL inflation is closer to 17%. OF COURSE retail sales are climbing, everything costs far more than it did a year ago.

But if we look at this data closer some alarms should go off.Why did retail only climb 1% when official inflation is at 9%?Sales should be much higher, but they are not.The 1% increase in retail in the midst of 40-year highs in price inflation is a sign of a sales implosion, not an improvement.A year ago in 2021, retail sales spiked by 7.73% in the middle of the inflation chaos.Inflation didn't go away in the past year, it only got worse, and now the increase is only 1% in 2022.

What about consumer sentiment?Well, it has plunged 37% since last year, indicating that faith in the economy is rapidly devolving and that Americans are more likely to cut their expenses in order to protect themselves from potential fiscal shocks in the months ahead.

What is causing this consumer decline?There are numerous factors.

First, the $6 trillion-plus in covid stimulus funds from 2020 has cycled through the retail chain and well out of people's pockets.It's gone, and the huge increase in economic activity that it triggered is gone also.We are finally feeling the effects that naturally occur at the end of helicopter money.

Around 43% of all Americans are falling into debt this year.Around 23% say they have no savings at all, while 28% say they have savings but only enough for three months of expenses should they lose their jobs.Half of Americans said inflation was the primary cause of their financial struggles, and 64% classify themselves as "financially unhealthy."What does this translate to in the near term?Far less spending.

US credit card debt peaked at $856 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021 and has started to decline, hitting $841 billion in the first quarter of 2022.Once again, with rising inflation you might assume that credit spending would continue to climb, but this is not the case.This is yet another signal that consumers are tapped out and simply can't spend the way they were a year ago.

Unemployment dropped to incredible lows as retailers frantically hired as many people as possible to keep up with the wave of consumer spending fed by covid checks and PPP loans.As is the case with most economic trends, it takes time for the system to realize that the money has disappeared.This is building up to mass layoffs in the final quarter of 2022.

Rising job losses in tandem with rising prices is the last technical indicator of stagflation along with falling GDP.With GDP well in decline recession has essentially already arrived, but the Biden Administration continues to tout the high employment rate as proof that all is well in the economy.

They consistently ignore all other important factors including GDP, rising prices, rising debt and loss of consumer spending power.An avalanche of job losses this year going into 2023 is so predictable it hurts, yet the White House acts as if it is oblivious.

Perhaps Joe Biden is oblivious (as his mind continues to degrade into dementia), but his economic advisers are not.They are well aware of what is about to happen and they are trying to keep the American people in the dark.Some might consider this tantamount to treason, but that's a discussion for another time.Needless to say, a considerable downturn is about to take place going into 2023 and hopefully people are preparing for the inevitable consequences.

It is starting to look a lot like 2008.Extremely long lines are forming at food banks all over the country, job losses and layoffs are starting to spike, countless small businesses are right on the brink of going under, a housing crash that could be even worse than what we witnessed in 2008 has begun, and large numbers of Americans are actually moving into sheds in a desperate attempt to save money.This new economic downturn is still only in the very early stages, and yet the economic suffering that we are already seeing all over the country is truly frightening.If people are struggling this much now, what will conditions be like six months down the road?

If you find yourself cutting back spending on groceries and gasoline these days, you are definitely not alone.

According to a Suffolk University/USA TODAY survey that was just released, about half the nation is in the same boat…

According to the survey, 45.3 percent of Americans have had to cut back their spending on groceries, and 59.4 percent said they are now going out to eat less often as the result of inflation.

Another 48 percent said they are driving less, and 45.4 percent said they are postponing or canceling vacations/travel plans due to rising costs.

Inflation is absolutely eviscerating our standard of living, and millions upon millions of Americans are deeply hurting right now.

And when people are deeply hurting, they often become quite desperate.

There has been a very alarming rise in shoplifting all over the United States, and food and other essentials have become prime targets.

In New York City, things have gotten so bad that one store has actually decided to start “locking up cases of Spam”…

With robberies up nearly 40 percent in New York City, it’s perhaps no surprise that a local pharmacy has taken the extreme steps of locking up cases of Spam.

Twitter user Willy Staley noticed the tins of $3.99 processed meat sealed in a theft-proof plastic container at the Duane Reade inside the Port Authority bus depot in Midtown Manhattan – known as one of New York’s grimiest areas.

Staley also found a $3.49 tin of Celebrity ham, which retails for a similar price, protected with the same measure.

I have a couple of reactions to this.

First of all, who in the world would pay $3.99 for a can of Spam?It is absolutely disgusting and I wouldn’t eat it under any circumstances even if someone gave it to me for free.

Secondly, why would anyone ever steal a can of Spam when they are so many other options that are actually edible?

I just don’t understand.

Of course it isn’t just Spam that is being locked up these days.According to CNN, at this point a lot of retailers have been transformed into “fortresses” due to rapidly rising theft…

These days, it feels like many stores are fortresses.

Most of the products on the drug store shelf are behind lock and key, even everyday items such as deodorant, toothpaste, candy, dish detergent, soap and aluminum foil. Manufacturers that supply lock cases and devices to chain stores have seen their businesses boom.

The reason why this is happening on such a widespread basis is because “organized retail crime” has become a really big thing here in the United States…

Walgreens and Rite Aid have said that the problem of organized retail crime — rings of criminals that steal products from stores and then often resell them on online marketplaces — is causing them to lock more products up and close some stores.

If this is taking place while the U.S. economy is still at least somewhat relatively stable, what will it be like once we officially plunge into a full-blown economic depression?

Another very troubling sign is the massive lines that we are starting to see at food banks all over the country.

According to Zero Hedge, food banks from coast to coast are reporting “record high demand and record low supply”…

In the past month there has been a steady stream of reports from pantries across the US stating that they are now hitting record high demand and record low supply.From New York to Wisconsin to Ohio to Missouri to Florida to Arkansas to California and beyond, pantries are running out.On top of that, it’s the middle of summer – The busiest time for food banks and the Salvation Army is during the winter holidays.

The majority of pantries indicate that they are most in need of cash donations and that these have started to fade out. When it comes to necessities, most people will not or cannot reduce the frequency of their purchases.Food, gas, housing, utilities, etc. are fixed income costs, and when these costs rise workers must cut costs elsewhere.Charities are usually the first to see the chopping block.

The level of demand at our food banks is only going to increase during the months ahead.

At some point there simply will not be enough food for everyone.

I really hope that you are getting prepared for the very difficult times that are coming, because there will be a limit to what charitable organizations are able to do for you.

Some Americans are attempting to radically reduce their expenses by literally moving into a shed.

One woman in Texas that was interviewed by Newsweek really regretted spending all of her money on a shed because the living conditions turned out to not be pleasant at all…

A woman’s account of her life in a $2,000 shed during the Texas heatwave has sparked an anguished debate about affordable housing.

Elizabeth Rishforth, posting on TikTok under the username @a_nobody_goodbye, shared a video of herself red-faced and sweating on June 23. She was living in a shed without electricity or running water in Houston, Texas, she said.

“Me and my boyfriend [used] all the savings we had to get the shed,” Rishforth told Newsweek.

But others have found “shed life” to be quite nice.

A mother of four named Jessica Taylor is actually loving “shed life” even though her family uses a “composting bathroom”…

“One of the things people find really weird about us living in a shed is that we use a composting bathroom rather than a traditional toilet,” Taylor, 30, who now resides in a lofted shed in western Tennessee, told The Post.

“It’s a bucket system,” the former bartender-turned-home-schooler (or shed-schooler) explained of her hut’s outhouse. “And [when] you [urinate or defecate], you cover it with wood chips each time. After two days, whether the bucket is full or not, we dump [the waste] into a composting bin in the woods, and then after a couple of years, [the waste] turns into soil for ornamental plants.“

In recent months, housing has become the most unaffordable that it has ever been in the United States, and so “shed life” has absolutely exploded in popularity.

In fact, the “#ShedLife” hashtag has now been shared on TikTok more than 22 million times…

On TikTok, shed dwellers have stamped videos of their hovels-turned-homes with the hashtag #ShedLife over 22.2 million times.

“More and more people are breaking free from the mindset that you have to have the big expensive, fancy house to feel like they’re making it,” said Taylor of the allure of shed life. “There’s value in living modestly. We’re able to spend more time together gardening and enjoying nature rather than working to afford lavish accommodations.”

As the economy continues to deteriorate, more and more Americans will be forced to choose “alternative lifestyles” in the months ahead.

But of course the elite are going to continue to insist that everything is just fine.If you can believe it, the definition of “recession” on Wikipedia was just changed to reflect the narrative of the Biden administration, and it has been locked to prevent any additional editing.

Do they actually believe that such heavy-handed measures will be effective?

The truth is that most Americans know that we are in a recession, and many have pointed out that even Bill Clinton has publicly acknowledged that a recession happens when GDP is negative for two quarters in a row.

But as I noted earlier, what we have been through so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

This economic downturn is going to get a lot worse, and that means that millions upon millions of Americans will soon become even more desperate.

This writer has to be honest. When I survey the earth’s and the nation’s landscapes of human rebellion I’ve said inwardly, “it’s all just not worth trying to save it.”

By that, I’m not thinking of the billions of lost souls, but of this system increasingly driven by evil intention, obviously in the grip of the principalities and powers of Ephesians 6:12. In speaking with others interested in Bible prophecy (and it is an increasing number interested, I’ve found) I find the same attitude at times.

Why not just give up and let them have the planet? That is, let ‘em have what’s coming to ‘em…

One such matter of late that feeds this wrongful attitude by those of us who long for Christ’s Return is found in the frustration engendered by apostate defectors of those who are supposed to be at the top of Christendom.

At the same time, the very word Christendom is, in my opinion, a word created by the humanist vernacular corrupters who include every strange wind of doctrine within this terminology. In fact, the word Christendom, in my view, postures the apostates for their imposition upon the end times religious landscape. Something we witness by, again in my view, perhaps the apex apostate of this time so near the beginning of the Tribulation.

The following, I hope, will demonstrate the point.

ROME — We humans “must repent and modify our lifestyles” because of our abuse of Mother Earth, Pope Francis states in a message released Thursday.

In his Message for the Celebration of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, the pontiff decries the “mistreatment” of our common home stemming from “our consumerist excesses,” “tyrannical anthropocentrism,” “predatory economic interests,” and “short sighted and selfish actions” leading to “the collapse of our planet’s ecosystems.”

“In the first place, it is our sister, mother earth, who cries out. Prey to our consumerist excesses, she weeps and implores us to put an end to our abuses and to her destruction,” Francis declares in his Message.

Because of human irresponsibility “countless species are dying out and their hymns of praise silenced,” the pope laments, while the ancestral lands of indigenous peoples “are being invaded and devastated on all sides, ‘provoking a cry that rises up to heaven.’”

Because of the “climate crisis,” the poor disproportionately suffer the impact of “the drought, flooding, hurricanes and heat waves that are becoming ever more intense and frequent,” the Pope asserts. The article referenced above contained much more all pointing to Mother Earth worship and agreement with the globalist mantra of climate change as the number one crisis facing mankind. It is the same madness spewed incessantly by those who sit in the high places of Ephesians 6:12. The same human minions who occupy the seats of power within the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the political powers that be within the United States who tell us we must suffer along with the world in order to keep from murdering the planet. The same ideological types of wickedness and evil that institutionalizes the murder of millions of babies in the wombs of their mothers each year.

The scripture burns into the cogitation while considering these times that must certainly be the last of the last days before the Rapture of the church.

Romans 1:21-25 KJV – “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

So, it is with this type of thinking, foisted by the likes of this apostate pope, that makes me sometimes say, why not just let ‘em have it? The scripture says that when they worship the creation more than the Creator, God gives up on them, does it not? Why not just concentrate on putting out the Gospel Message and not worry with trying to correct the situations of geopolitical, cultural, societal, and religious, satanic evil storming upon this doomed planet?

Then the Conviction comes from the Holy Spirit Who Indwells… God is God and you are not.He hasn’t given up and will not until the prophecies are fulfilled. Who are you to do so? You are to be salt and light. Salt is a preservative and you are here to delay the complete corruption that is coming—delay, not stop the decay. You are to be light in an ever-darkening world of rebellion against the Creator of all things.

Points well made and understood. And, Points taken to heart.

God changes not, and His word, I believe, tells us today like He did the prophets of Israel as given in Ezekiel 3:17-19. This, of course, is not to say that we are prophets in that Old or New Testament sense, but we are to watch (Mark 13:37) for Christ’s Return. We do so by observing the times and seasons, unlike the Judaizers who weren’t paying attention, thus missed their Messiah’s coming in the first Advent.

We are responsible for getting out the prophetic Word of forewarning In these closing days of the age. We are not to give up or give in, because the Lord we serve tells otherwise.

And we are Charged by that same Lord to put forth His Wonderful Grace Gift Offer so you, too, if you don’t know Jesus as Savior, can be Urged by the Holy Spirit to accept Him this very moment. You will then have the Promise of going to Heaven and to be Gloriously Alive forever with all of God’s Riches as your Inheritance.

Romans 10:9-10 KJV – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

The news media is saying that Joe Biden had a good week because off his legislative victory in reaching agreement for the Senate and the House to pass what the Democrats have labeled “The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.” Don’t get your hopes up. This is a bait and switch legislation that does not, nor will it ever, live up to the false moniker it has been given. What it amounts to is spending $369 billion to stimulate the pet climate change, green energy agenda of the left, rewarding non-profits, state and local governments, and Indian tribal governments with government cash payments while increasing taxes on corporations and raising drug prices on Medicare to pay for it. Effect on Inflation? Zero. Zilch. Nada.

The Democrats claim the bill would reduce the deficit by some $300 billion, which would lower inflation. Think about this. At the time of this writing, the US federal deficit was nearly $1.6 TRILLION and the US national debt was $30.6 TRILLION. Applying intelligence and common sense, making a payment of $300 billion against a $31 Trillion debt is hardly going to reduce inflation of any kind, especially when raising taxes and Medicare drug prices to redistribute taxpayer funds to climate change cronies. This legislation only raises the misery index by cutting benefits to senior citizens and causing corporations to raise prices on goods and services to cover the tax increase. Meanwhile, the IRS will have its boot to every taxpayers’ throat. Oh, but this is the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.”

The influential Penn-Wharton Budget Model (PWBM) analysis indicates that the legislation will not even live up to the deficit reduction it advertises. The Penn-Wharton take on the bill is: “The Inflation Reduction Act would reduce non-interest cumulative deficits by $248 billion over the budget window with no impact on GDP in 2031. The impact on inflation is statistically indistinguishable from zero.” In fact, Penn-Wharton says the Act “would very slightly increase inflation until 2024” and that “These point estimates are statistically indistinguishable from zero, thereby indicating low confidence that the legislation will have any impact on inflation.” Penn-Wharton projects labor supply and capital distortions from rising tax rates.

The National Law Review writes that the Democrats are even trying to subvert the rules to pass the legislation, “Senate Democrats intend to vote on the Act through the budget reconciliation process, which would permit the legislation to pass with a bare majority vote in the Senate. If there is no Republican support for the Act, all 50 Democrats in the Senate would need to vote for the measure, and Vice President Kamala Harris would be required to cast the tiebreaking vote.” And because the bill has zero impact on inflation, there is no guarantee that the Senate Parliamentarian will allow certain provisions. This is how the bait and switch works with leftist politicians. As in Jeremiah 9:8, “Their tongue is an arrow shot out; It speaks deceit.”

Visitors to San Francisco can’t help but be amazed at that architectural wonder called the Golden Gate Bridge. During its initial phases of construction, a number of workers lost their grip and fell to their deaths in the San Francisco Bay.

Needless to say, this slowed down the construction process quite dramatically. The builders were trying to think of a way to remedy this, so they did something that had never been done before.

A giant net was installed under the construction area. The workers knew that if they did fall, the net would catch them. It wouldn’t be a pleasant experience, but they would live to tell about it. The result was they could work without the fear of dying. They were able to move quickly and finish the project.

Did you know that God has put a safety net under you? By that I mean, when you slip, when you fall, when you make a mistake, it doesn’t mean that your name has been blotted out of the Book of Life and that you are now persona non grata with God. Because He came into your heart, forgave you, and committed Himself to you, He now protects you, sealed you, and justified you as a result of that commitment.

The fact is that we as Christians will sin and fall short. The Scriptures, as well as our own experiences in life, tell us this is true. According to 1 John 1:8, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” This is not an excuse for ungodly living. Nor is it a license for sin. It is a simple acknowledgement of reality.
